It has been a foodie weekend, for a change! What am I up to? I don’t actually know myself right now!

22 Oct

I just love so much easy weekends, where there is nothing to do, just getting up when it suits me, relax, go out, come back, and cook! Actually our weekend was supposed to be busy, we were supposed to go to the Cotswold to see friends and stay Saturday in their gorgeous cottage in the countryside (last time I went there was Saturday 2nd July last year, I missed Kate Moss wedding lunch to a pub by 10 minutes and I saw John Galliano walking around the high street, that was cool!!!) anyway so there wasn’t much to do, the weather wasn’t that great, as usual, so we just took it easy, breakfast, lunch, dinner, some good movies and a bottle of wine, that’s what you need sometimes. Looking forward to go to Miami in a week, it has been over a month and I cannot wait!!

My weekend, in food pictures

Saturday morning smoothie, before…

and after

The day after it was another story, full English breakfast…in a French restaurant

Roast lamb with vegetables on Sunday night with a nice dessert

Blackberry and apple pie

The pie was made by my husband, I can’t believe how good he is at cooking!!! I am trying to keep myself busy with anything that comes up in my mind right now…but still taking it easy, I must say I haven’t got bored to be a Lady of Leisure yet!!!

Have a great week everyone!!!xxx

Beautiful blogger award finally on air on Annainherwonderland.com!

30 Sep

It has been a while and I really need to apologize and say thanks at the same time to Alexandra http://askmystyle.com/, who recently nominated me for the “Beautiful Blogger Award” … I love how bloggers get close together and appreciate each other efforts on their blog with awards! Thanks a lot Alexandra and please everyone check her blog!

The Rules:

– Post 7 interesting things about yourself

– Nominate other bloggers who I feel deserve the award

– Let them know about the nomination

7 things about me:

  1. I can’t stay on the same place for long; I always need to travel around. I have been in England for 7 days now and I feel already sick about it, I wish I could travel tomorrow to go somewhere else…and come back…and go again.
  2. My heritage is Italian and a bit English…my great grandfather was born in London and christened in Saint Paul’s Cathedral at the beginning of the 20th century
  3. My favourite cuisine is Italian, as you can all imagine – I cannot live without pasta and I am obsessed with cooking.
  4. I’m a girly girl, I love pink and pastel colours and high heels (even if I fall quite easily) but I can’t resist to spikes and studs to add a tough touch to my clothes and my Converse shoes.
  5. My favourite book is the “I love shopping series” by Sophie Kinsella, I read those books in Italian and read them all again in English to learn the language and they always make me laugh, I must be honest I love the 50 shades of grey trilogy as well…who doesn’t???
  6. Louis Vuitton bags are my favourite accessories, they go well with anything even with a cheap Primark dress they do the job!!!
  7. I have started to struggle to speak my own language, I have to speak in English all the time, is it not crazy??

Fabulous blogs I enjoy and I’d like to nominate:

Shine bright like a diamond in the sky this weekend….

28 Sep

Dear readers,

I am really sorry but the past week has been a bit crazy, 4 days in Miami of very bad weather and just a few pictures taken, no fancy nights out or spinning around, just been working! Came back home on Tuesday, back to work, thousands of things to do and not had much time and not much to say…jet lag and PMS are not good subject for blogging I believe! I have been listening non-stop to the new Rihanna’s song in the past few days and I absolutely love it, can’t wait for her new album to come out and storm the charts.

Shine bright like a diamond…doesn’t leave my mind!

How’s everyone up to? Any good plans for the weekend? My weekend will be sleeping cooking and maybe work out…or maybe not! I show you anyway the really few snaps I took while away, just on the blackberry! Have a great weekend everyone!

Forgot to say…I finally registered the domain for my blog, you can find me at

14 Sep

I cannot believe my alarm went off at 4.50am this morning, but I am always so please so fly back home and for an occasion like a cousin’s wedding how could I dare to say no? This week in my family my parents celebrated 38 years of marriage, other relatives had their anniversary celebration as well, my cousin is getting married, Sunday is going to be 1year and 2months wedding anniversary for us…the question is, who’s next? I love being back even for a short time just to enjoy family and friends, and I can’t wait to attend a big fat Italian wedding!! X

A lazy Saturday enjoying the countryside, I don’t often do but I should do it more!

21 Jul

The past few days have been quite stressful for me, I had lot of things in my mind and I still have, just trying to get rid of some thoughts while trying to relax a bit, just getting a lazy day sometimes.

The weather today is being quite nice, not hot, not cold and a bit of sunshine (that comes and goes) does make a difference on your mood. Been out and about in the garden, trying to finish reading 50 shades of grey so I can start the next two books of the trilogy…and this morning I just enjoyed a coffee in the local village of Cuckfield, West Sussex how pretty is this place??? My friend Jeff is right, despite I don’t always appreciate, we live in a beautiful part of the country, with so many local “treasures”.

Just a few more days and we will be off again…and hopefully my head will be clearer by then.

Have an amazing weekend you all, wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

From bikinis to rain boots, from croissants to Marmite, please take me back to Saint Tropez! One year wedding anniversary to celebrate today!

16 Jul

In the last few days so many things happened and I have been through so many emotions in just a short period of time, Thursday morning I was getting ready for my best friend wedding and I just started to cry, out of the blue, because I am so happy for her found happiness. At the ceremony, I was smiling and clapping my hands when I broke down again…her gorgeous daughters wrote a reading on their own that was so sweet and full of love that made my heart to break, what a wonderful day we had and I wish so much happiness to the newly married!

The day after we had a very early start and left for the south of France for our anniversary weekend in Saint Tropez, it was so good, so much fun, so much good food and great weather that now that we are back I feel so lost! But despite the weather here is horrible and cold, I cannot forget that today we celebrate our first wedding anniversary, how exciting! Better if I start to cook while you check out all the pictures!! Xxx

50 shades of so much fun, loved the birthday bash at the weekend! So many cool things to look forward to this week!

8 Jul

After a week back home in England, I got invited to my friend’s 30th birthday party over the weekend, the weather wasn’t supposed to be good at all but despite this we wanted to enjoy and have fun…I packed my bag on Saturday morning, kissed my husband and left, 80miles after it was time to celebrate her!

Great night, great food for dinner, great drinks and great music, 2 clubs later and so much laughs we made it home where we all stayed…unfortunately the girls kept on having fun I was kind of hugging the toilet, I didn’t handle the drinks too well (I still blame the crazy driving of the taxi driver!). A few hours later I managed to fall asleep and in the morning we were like, oh my god what happened last night? I suggested, let’s see the pictures! And memories came back…a la hangover the movie in a female classier version! I miss the fact to not being able to hang out with my Italian friends at the weekend, luckily I have found so many nice girlfriend over here that I love and they appreciate me…and my entertaining performances, like even falling down the stairs backwards in a slow motion, what champagne does to me!!! This week is going to be slow to start (still need to get rid of my sickness first!) 3 days at work, Thursday I have to be witness at my best friend’s wedding and I cannot wait and friday morning at 6am we fly to Saint Tropez for the weekend, to celebrate our first wedding anniversary…I cannot believe it has already been a year!!! So…I wish to everyone a great week!xxxx

Friday night in Milan town but what can you do to escape from the heat wave? Italian Riviera here I come! Milan to London, London to Miami and Miami to Bahamas, just to keep myself busy!!

18 Jun

I have enjoyed so much these few days I have spent back home with my family and friends, summer has finally come in the north of Italy and you do feel the heat, a lot! Friday night I travelled to Milan on the train and underground and when I arrived at destination I was covered in sweat!

Friday night we were in Milan in the Navigli area, so cool with so many bars and restaurants and so many people around … trouble is when you wake up on Saturday morning and you see the same area of town completely empty and when you realised that is 10.30am and it’s already 28degrees (or 82.4 F) you understand that it’s time to GET OUT OF HERE!!!

The quick way to escape is to take the motorway, Genova direction and in two hours you are on the seaside, Genova, Recco, Sori, Portofino, Camogli, Chiavari, Sestri Levante….God bless Liguria and its fabulous characteristics!

I spent every single summer of my childhood here with my family, relatives and cousins, and going back there in this gorgeous little town called Sori made me fell in love again for this beautiful part of my country, I have one more kilo on today but I don’t care, how can you not eat fresh fish, trofie al pesto and the amazing Focaccia made in Liguria? You must be crazy!!! Came back last night , just packing my stuff, back to London in a few hours and off we go to Miami tomorrow morning! I missed my husband like crazy but I really enjoyed the time away as well!

The Jubilee weekend is finally over, good fun, good food and good friends, shame it feels more like December than June!

5 Jun

Tuesday night, 9PM, watching TV and collecting a few memories of the good and super long weekend! Thanks to the Queen and to the diamond jubilee this week everyone will have a 3 day week at work which is great! Long weekend spent cooking and drinking with friends…and cuddling the gorgeous daughter of our friends!!!

God bless the Queen, and the long bank holiday!!!

X

I’m not British but I will enjoy the celebrations this weekend, God save the Queen and the Diamond Jubilee!

1 Jun

The countdown is finally over, it’s the weekend and it’s a long one, thanks to the Queen and the Jubilee celebrations, I cannot wait to get some rest, have lots of fun with friends and maybe try to sleep a bit more! I am back to be a desperate working housewife and I really struggle to cope at the moment. I enjoy being out and about all day but when it comes to keep the house clean, the fridge full, the ironing done, the dinner cooked…I keep on leaving the workout at the gym out!!! I just need to get back on track…and probably I need a holiday again!

This weekend is going to be great, friends are coming over, the day after we are going to see other friends, spend some quality time with my husband, and despite I am not British let’s enjoy the celebrations for the Diamond Jubilee, everyone  is mad for the Union Jack, towns are decorated with flags…I wish I could celebrate by getting this Alexander McQueen clutch…

I can’t afford it so let’s face the fact that I got two hem skirts at NewLook today…God Bless The Queen and the High Street!!
