The ups and downs of dieting…crazy cravings, food obsession or more? I blame my vacation in Miami!!

2 May

superstickies (1)

I have been over indulging for 12 days, I cannot bare the idea to deprive myself of a dirty stinking burger and fries If I want to, ok the bikini started to feel a bit tight but as I said to my friends, more responsible than me…Sod it the diet starts on Monday when I will be back…but when I got back and checked my weight on the scale I wanted to bang my head on the wall…2.5 kg more (5.5 pounds), damn me and my food obsession!!!!

No reason to panic, let’s just start to cut down on alcohol first of all : I have been drinking a lot but that is what you do in vacation, you don’t drink a bottle of Corona and think : Oh yes this is already 148 calories…oh yes let’s pop the champagne at 10.30 am, which must be 5pm somewhere…and here we are another 89 calories per glass….  But as my dad would say to my husband when we stay by the seaside in Italy when the new bottle of Prosecco comes up…Holiday!!! (Or Vacation! for Americans)

Anyway I am not 20 years old anymore and my metabolism is not as fast anymore so I am trying to go back on track cooking lots of fish, chicken, cutting down portions of pasta, never been crazy for chocolate and what happened?

I suddenly find myself obsessed with “I need a piece of chocolate right now”! I find myself on my iPad checking new recipes most of the day, and because I haven’t drunk anything alcoholic since Saturday night I started to crave even that….tonight we are going out for dinner with friends in town and do you know what I can’t wait to have? A Bombay gin and tonic before dinner!!!!

1kg (2.2 pounds) has already gone down ( probably water retention)  and I still have a lot to work on. Luckily I have a crazy dog here that needs walking and exercise so at least I have to get out and walk a lot with Coco and listen to me….I went back to the gym today…please orchestra go on….we need to celebrate this rare moment!!

And what about this weekend that we are going to visit friends in the Cotswolds? Fuck the diet let’s start again on Monday….actually on Tuesday because Monday is bank-holiday….thanks British calendar!!!

Food, drinks, chocolate panettone, prosecco and PUMP IT UP THE JAM!

22 Dec

In my own country it’s all about food, I nrmally don’t get up before 10.30/11am and while I’m eating breakfast my mum is already baking bread and cooking lunch, we are just non-stop!

Afternoon doing shopping, evening out with friends, ending at a friends house for more food…loving the chocolate panettone!!!! And why not entertain ourselves with just dance wii workout?

I have to admit, I did not have a go, too embarrassed to do…but my best friend did a good performance on Girls just wanna have fun and her boyfriend really rocked with PUMP IT UP THE JAM…

By the way I went for that famous or notorious sun bed yesterday (I’m saying that because despite I’m 27 years old, married and grown up…my mum told me off! 🙂 ) So now I look like a brown version of the scream!

I’d like to say thanks to all my 103 followers, God you are making me so happy and pleased with my blog, never thought people would like to read my stuff, but really Thanks to everone!!!

Shit…now I cannot get rid of this song….

Pump up the jam
pump it up
while your feet are stomping
And the jam is pumping
look ahead the crowd is jumpin’

19 Dec

It’s going to be big; it’s going to be good. I cannot believe I am writing my post number 100!! Someone must be bored, someone maybe still enjoys my blog.

I just do this for the pleasure of writing, still hoping that my written English is good enough to be understood! I am still recovering from the fun weekend, trying to wash the alcohol away with plenty of Earl Grey Tea, it’s my last day at work and I have so much to look forward to:

1. Flying back to Italy tomorrow

2. Spend my day with my gorgeous niece, my brother and my parents

3. See my friends

4. Spend Christmas with my family

5. Come back on Boxing day evening and celebrate Christmas with my gorgeous husband

6. Flying to Miami

7. Spend New Year’s eve in Miami

8. Flying to Barbados for our late honeymoon on the 4th January

9. Enjoy Barbados (hopefully we are going to meet Rihanna!)

10. Enjoy more days in Miami

Do you think have I got enough to look forward to? I hope so!

Office Christmas lunch today and tonight a good dinner with my husband based on my special homemade Lasagne, wash down with some good Prosecco!

Have a good day everyone! xxx

The pleasure of being back home

1 Oct

I still cannot believe I’m back home with my family  after more than 10 weeks, I’m feeling like a teenager again and I love being spoilt by my parents!!!!!

Had a very nice dinner with them last night, my mum cooked for me aubergine parmigiana and I love it! But I started with a nice glass of Prosecco to celebrate my arrival + a big slice of focaccia from Genova, God I miss the Italian regional cuisine so much!

My Saturday morning started early, every time I come back my mum sends me to hospital for blood test, just to check if I’m all right (bless her, funny enough I had last blood test  7weeks ago, I should start to explain to my mum that we have doctors and hospitals in the United Kingdom as well!) 😉

After the hospital visit we went for breakfast and I was dying for a cappuccino and croissant with cream, amazing!

I have started to realise that I become happy with such as small things when I’m back, now after have been out shopping for a few hours I’m back home, waiting for another amazing lunch and in the afternoon probably family again, aunts, cousins etc, and tonight, finally tonight, it’s time to go out with my friends! I haven’t seen my best friend since my wedding and I cannot wait to see her, hopefully we are not going to cry when we will see each other!

My Italian day so far has been great, and it will be amazing all weekend long, cheers!!!!!

23 Sep

Cheers to the freaking weekend
I drink to that, yeah yeah

It’s Friday finally and I cannot wait for next Friday when I will be back in Italy for the weekend!!!

Woke up a bit messed up today (Prosecco…I love you and I hate you), managed to go to work by car because all the trains to and from London were cancelled so I actually enjoyed driving down to Brighton, took some pictures but they will not give justice to the view from the freeway…

My husband is busy working on his boat with his friend so I will have a ME weekend of relax, can’t wait!

And for tonight, I’m going to cook dinner for my two men, seafood spaghetti, please do not be late!!

Have a great weekend everyone…I’ll drink to that! ❤

Ready to go, thanks high street!

22 Sep

I’m ready, I can’t wait to get rid of my boredom and I can’t wait for a glass of wine!

My outfit comes from the high street, got this Diesel jeans in April (the model is called Matic, size 26 but after Miami they are a bit tight!). The white shirt came on my Tuesday shopping spree at H&M, only £ 12.99! Love this Benetton shoes I bought last February, shame I risk to kill myself every time I wear them, well…I don’t have to walk tonight! And god bless my lovely 4 years old Louis Vuitton speedy 25, I love it!

Well if someone delays, I’m going to start to open the bottle of Prosecco, have a good evening everyone!
