Beautiful blogger award finally on air on Annainherwonderland.com!

30 Sep

It has been a while and I really need to apologize and say thanks at the same time to Alexandra http://askmystyle.com/, who recently nominated me for the “Beautiful Blogger Award” … I love how bloggers get close together and appreciate each other efforts on their blog with awards! Thanks a lot Alexandra and please everyone check her blog!

The Rules:

– Post 7 interesting things about yourself

– Nominate other bloggers who I feel deserve the award

– Let them know about the nomination

7 things about me:

  1. I can’t stay on the same place for long; I always need to travel around. I have been in England for 7 days now and I feel already sick about it, I wish I could travel tomorrow to go somewhere else…and come back…and go again.
  2. My heritage is Italian and a bit English…my great grandfather was born in London and christened in Saint Paul’s Cathedral at the beginning of the 20th century
  3. My favourite cuisine is Italian, as you can all imagine – I cannot live without pasta and I am obsessed with cooking.
  4. I’m a girly girl, I love pink and pastel colours and high heels (even if I fall quite easily) but I can’t resist to spikes and studs to add a tough touch to my clothes and my Converse shoes.
  5. My favourite book is the “I love shopping series” by Sophie Kinsella, I read those books in Italian and read them all again in English to learn the language and they always make me laugh, I must be honest I love the 50 shades of grey trilogy as well…who doesn’t???
  6. Louis Vuitton bags are my favourite accessories, they go well with anything even with a cheap Primark dress they do the job!!!
  7. I have started to struggle to speak my own language, I have to speak in English all the time, is it not crazy??

Fabulous blogs I enjoy and I’d like to nominate:

Summer has finally come, but for how long? Enjoy the tropical Brighton and thinking about memorial weekend in Miami!

25 May

According to weather office and according to what it is written on the paper, this week England is warmer than Hawaii, believe it or not. Well anyway it is so nice going to work just in t-shirt, jeans and flip flops, come back home, have a Pimms on the patio enjoying a bit of sunshine and the view, hopefully it will last for a while! It’s funny walking around town, day 1 everyone was wearing shorts and t-shirt, so you could see lots of skinny, medium and large very pale legs walking up and down on the seafront, day 2 and day 3 the colours have changed…now all the Brits are flashing red legs and bare chests…class!

Anyway I feel in summer mood, I look for espadrilles shoes, vests, wedges and I couldn’t believe my luck 2 days ago, as you all now I got nominated for the blog sunshine award (thanks again girls!) and I went for a walk in the high street. I have been monitoring a certain British shop for 5weeks now, twice I week I went in, walked around every single aisles looking for something specific, and finally on Wednesday my perseverance has finally paid off! I got it!!!

The fish dress Mary Katrantzou style…I saw this dress so many times on fashion magazines in the past few weeks and I needed it, thanks Primark!!! I hope everyone will enjoy the gorgeous weekend, will think about memorial weekend in the US, come on party people!!!

Low cost shopping, great fun…and good excuse to escape from my lonely wonderland

25 Apr

As you know I haven’t had much to do recently and this fact has actually started to bother me a bit, the weather has been horrible recently, rain non-stop since last week, been working out at the gym every other day but, I start to feel frustrated and I cannot wait to go away on Monday. Is just me or is it normal feel like the time is just flying by…and despite and I’m not busy at all I arrive at the evening thinking: – Oh shit I haven’t done that, oh yes I must do that tomorrow…come on turn back time I need more hour during the day…looking for a job is exhausting, plus when no one even bother to reply…even more frustrating!

Today I woke up and it was raining, and raining, and raining. I keep on seeing rabbits everywhere, every time I look out of the window there is a bit of wildlife going on, I will start to talk to them soon…and it was still raining, and raining and raining. I have to do something today just to take my mind off things for a bit so when around 12 stopped to rain for a bit (MIRACLE) I went down to Brighton for some Low Cost Shopping down in the high street and I was pleasantly pleased with myself!

I don’t get why lots of people slag off most of the high street shops, Primark? For chavs and poor people! New look? Not good! Topshop? Cheap shop! H&M? polyester a go go…hang on….are all British people millionaires right now? Because I heard this morning on the radio England is in recession again and unfortunately right now designer is off limits for my wallet so why not?

Monday we are off again to Miami (YEAH!) and I just needed some basic t-shirts…well actually as usual I did not need a thing but I found a few interesting bits anyway!

Electric blue shorts? Yeah! As a huge fan of Rihanna … I needed that t-shirt!   And what about some LMFAO? Party rock! And the espadrilles? They are taking me right back to my childhood! So Miami…low cost I will come over!

10 reasons why I’m not British and I probably never will

10 Dec

I don’t mean to offend anyone or to upset anyone, please do not take this post in the wrong way.

I have been living in England for 3 years and there are still so many things that make me so different from British girls, the ones I see walking up and down the high street…just take it like

The vision of an Italian grumpy cow about Britain…

10 reasons why I’m not British and I probably never will

1. I don’t stand outside a pub at 5PM on a Friday in December drinking lager, smoking a rolled up cigarette, wearing tracksuit and a vest, when it’s only 4degrees C (or 39 degrees F )

2. I don’t go out on Friday or Saturday night during the winter wearing only a Lipsy dress with a clutch bag and peep toe shoes (my outfit could be more likely to be jeans, leggings underneath, socks, another pair of socks, long sleeve t-shirt, jumper, jacket, scarf, and I will be still so brave to claim I’m cold!) See the daily mail article (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2067391/Why-DO-young-women-dressed-like-We-meet-nightclubbers-unsettling-answer.html)

3. I’d rather go for a sun bed sometimes and risk being wrinkly by 30, but I will never go for a spray tan! It stinks, it makes you look orange and plus after you have it done you cannot have a shower for 24 hours to get the colour to settle…it stinks to me!

4. I still don’t get the passion for Indian food or Chinese food, both mess up my stomach a lot!

5. I don’t think beans, cheese or whatever you like, followed by On toast, can be considered a meal!

6. Don’t get why until 18 years old people cannot drink, I started at 14 and by 18 I was bored to! It could save so many lives have a better drinking education, not wait to be 18 and get wasted every weekend throwing up everywhere in the high street outside clubs, thinking about East street in Brighton on a Friday night…

7. I don’t want to go clubbing in London, for god’s sake why all the clubs are on the basement?!? Claustrophobia rules my life!

8. I do not shop in Topshop! British sizes don’t fit me properly, different body shape from Italians and British girls, and luckily I’m not 11stone like the average Brits (from a recent survey, all my British friends are thin and glamorous)

9. I like to shop in Primark, just picking up the right bits to mix with designer accessories… I do not fill up the basket with all the crap just because it’s so cheap!

10. I hate leggings…as you all know from one of my previous post!

That’s why I’m LOUD AND PROUD to be Italian, with my pros and cons!!
