Feliz Navidad Prospero año y Felicidad, Buon Natale e felice anno nuovo, Merry Christmas and happy new year, feeling festive and ready to go!

17 Dec

Dear readers,

It has been a long time since my last post, so much went on and now, that I am getting ready to fly home to spend Christmas time with family and friends, I found a few spare minutes for my blog, I am not neglecting it but sometimes it’s hard to find time for everything!

I can’t believe it’s Christmas time already, last minute wrapping presents, my suitcase to fill, the smell of winter in the air…loving this time a year!

Recently I have been busy organising a surprise birthday party for my mother in law which went so well, all the family and friends here at home for Sunday lunch of celebrations, such a good event!

From party planning to wedding planning…to DIY expert…we are doing some renovation at home, having a new bathroom fitted upstairs and of course my husband and a friends are working on it, and every hour you can hear : Anna…can you go to wickes or B&Q to get this…this and this?? I even have a DIY account at the local store now!!

Bathroom apart now it’s time to get ready to go home, Italy I am coming!!! Coming back here on Boxing day and fly away again for new year’s eve in Miami…it sounds like our usual good plan!!

Merry Christmas and Happy new year everybody!!!

Lille: The Best City for Christmas Shopping

16 Nov

When it comes to shopping for Christmas, finding gifts for all your loved ones that are unique, thoughtful and/or lavish, you can always count on good old London Town. From Oxford Street famous names to quirky stalls in Camden Town you’ll be sure to find everything you could need. You can’t beat that satisfying feeling of coming home with your arms full of shopping bags that each contains special and exciting gifts for everyone, bargains and luxuries alike. Putting the kettle on and a Christmas CD or DVD whilst you wrap your purchases is one of the little joys of the season for many of us. But did you know that away from London, which can become rather too busy over the Christmas period (especially at weekends) you could take the iDBUS from London to Lille for an excellent Christmas shopping experience that combines a mini break with shopping heaven? Yes, with iDBUS’s mini-prices you could be on your way with iDBUS from London to Lille, which features one of France’s largest Christmas markets and plenty of year-round stores to explore. As with all iDBUS coach trips, you will be delivered from and to centrally-located coach stations and Vieux Lille is a compact town that is easy to navigate and explore on foot, so you don’t need to worry about finding connecting buses or Metro trains to get to where all the shops are. You will never be short of places to eat in Lille, which is known for its gastronomic delights and, being close to the border with Belgium, has moules et frites, waffles and fine chocolate dishes on almost every menu. If you want to take in the sights of the city you can take a ride on the Ferris wheel in the Grand Place and try to decide which of the eighty-plus Christmas stalls you will want to visit. Stay within the old town for charming hotels and bed and breakfast accommodation with character, or head into the newer part of town for more spacious, modern accommodation. Either way you will be within easy walking distance of the shops and the coach station to take you back to London when you are ready. By the way, if you book with iDBUS you can book single tickets for the same price as returns, so if you are not sure of how long you want to stay you can just book a single ticket to get you there and then book a return journey once you are ready to leave after a few days – the price of the tickets remains the same regardless of when you book them. It takes less than 6 hours to get from London to Lille with iDBUS but iDBUS coach trips always feature spacious, comfortable seating, free on board Wi-Fi,plug sockets (but don’t forget your euro plug adapter!) and frequent departure and arrival times for your convenience. So take in the sights and smells of Christmas in Lille – cinnamon, ginger, mulled wine, fake snow and an ice rink, colourful crafts and gifts, decorations and local produce. And with the iDBUS Mini Prices you can afford to spend a lot more when you’re there!

My birthday has gone but I will keep on celebrating this weekend down in the Italian Riviera with the family, bring it on!

22 Aug

Hello readers

On Monday I celebrated my birthday, the big 29, I am not going to tell my age anymore I am going to stop here, at 29! I had a lovely birthday lunch in London with good friends, good food and good sushi…yes we went to Nobu in Park Lane, I absolutely loved it and I can’t wait to go back there! At the moment I am all obsessed with fish and that sushi was just something else…oh god I feel hungry now!

I just cannot still realised that I turned 29, I mean I still feel like I am 17…but clearly I am not anymore … anyway I must admit it is not easy at all for me to celebrate my birthday in England when my family and friends are in Italy..despite how nice it can be  here with my husband and the few friends I have it does not feel the same unfortunately, and I do miss it!

Tomorrow we are flying down to visit my parents in the Italian Riviera for a few days and I simply cannot wait to spend some good time with them! I should get baking when I am back…have you seen one of my birthday presents?

Have a great weekend everyone

So glad to be back home with Coco!!!

Please take me back to the Cotswold: breath-taking countryside, peace, quiet, sunshine…I might love England a bit more thanks to this beautiful place!

9 May

Hello readers

I spent a lovely bank holiday long weekend with friends in their gorgeous Cotswold cottage and I enjoyed so much, the weather was great, the sun was shining, the friends and their kids were lovely and every time I turned my head I could only see beautiful open fields, gorgeous stone houses and….nothing else, the sound of the silence!!

This is such a beautiful part of the country, so many Londoners have properties here…and if it’s good enough for Kate Moss…it’s good enough for me to brave some country chic!

Coco and her two new friends loved it as well…!

Here we are with some pictures…enjoy!!!

The role of the desperate housewife, between happiness and anger, mood swings and hysterical situations and you wonder why we are desperate!!! Let’s open the respect campaign

3 Apr

happy housewife

–          Hi, what do you do for living?

–          I am a housewife but I have a blog to take care of, a small wedding business and I write freelance for some magazines…

–          Ok you said housewife first so you don’t do much…

–          F*** you!

queen_bitch

I think if someone wanted to interview me this how an interview could go, guys I had enough.

Just because you don’t work from 9 to 5 in one office in the middle of town, they put you on the cross like Jesus, yeah whatever housewife but do you do? You don’t even have kids!

Every life seen from outside looks just roses and flowers, people don’t think that everyone can have ups and downs, this is life guys it happens all the time, it just depends how the events in life affect you, if you let the others get you down or not.

keep-calm-and-show-me-respect-3

I came back yesterday from a few days back home and I discovered talking with someone

–          Oh by the way be careful because those people think you are just a bitch that got married for money…

I couldn’t stop myself laughing…and my friend said

–          Why do you laugh? You should be careful!

–          I laugh because I don’t care what people think of me and it makes me laugh how people can describe someone without even know the person mentioned, is funny right? I am a bitch? Well f*** them then!

You are just a housewife, you probably go to the gym every day, going for manicures and lunches out, you don’t clean and you probably don’t even cook…yeah whatever!

black-and-white-dunny-housewife-quote-sarcasm

I go to the gym every 2/3 weeks, and if I do more than 5 minutes of rowing machine I dislocate my shoulder (true, it happened to me 3 weeks ago!), I go for manicures probably every 3/4 months (if I am lucky, the nail vanish stays on my nails one day and half before chipping for all the cleaning. Or worse I pick my nails because I get stressed!)

housewife and laundry

Lunches out…when? I live in the countryside not in Kings Road in London, without have to highlight again that the Brits ain’t that friendly to meet up new people to go out for lunch, but it will make me very boring and repetitive! I do clean…a lot! What would you do if you have carpet everywhere and one fluffy and chubby cat and a dog? You would use the vacuum every day wouldn’t you? No of course, it makes me a mad person right? This is my husband’s statement!

dishes or daiquiri

Cooking…I do cook and I love cooking! I am not that good at baking but I am trying to improve myself…I think I should become the major shareholder of the local supermarket because I am there literally every day!

stressed is desserts

Just because I go away a lot doesn’t make me a useless bitch does it? I am not out from one of those stupid tv series like Big Rich Texas or the Real Housewives of Wherever …so please show some respect…BITCHES!!!

A day out in London town and the snow in March, what an unexpected and unpleasant surprise! Back to winter wonderland? Looks like it!

12 Mar

DSC02691

Hello readers

As you can see sometimes I come back to update my blog, last week it was the first week at home after the Miami vacation and I had to sort myself out with the time zone and I had to get back into the puppy routine once again, which it was pleasant but hard as well!

Yesterday some snow fell and I took some pictures with Coco in the garden, but by 6pm last night the south west of England (mostly Brighton area) was completely covered in snow, my poor husband had to drive 5 miles to come home, it took him 2 hours and 10 minutes, can you believe it? I woke up to probably 10 cm of snow in the garden…oh my!!! Snow in March does not seem right to me, probably because I hate snow at any time of the year anyway!  I am going to show you some pictures from the past few days, a fun day in London with good Italian friends, some baking….plus some snaps of Coco Chanel…she is growing so much!!!

Kos: Fun in the Sun

21 Jan

It seems that when it comes to finding somewhere that guarantees fun in the sun, the Greek islands never disappoint. And Kos is right up there with the best of them.

Famous for its fabulous beaches, Kos is a real gem when it comes to holiday hotspots. It’s got almost 300km of coastline which means there are plenty of sunbathing opportunities, quiet secluded coves and beautiful photogenic bays. Among the best are Mastichari Beach, which is home to numerous windsurfing centres, about 25km south of Kos Town. Thermes is a small pebbly cove flanked by boulders and craggy cliffs, while Tigaki is a long, sweeping stretch of sandy beach close to Kos Town with shallow shores, perfect for tiny paddling feet.

If it’s a beach break you’re after, you’ll find plenty of cheap holidays to Kos via the many different tour operators. The best bet is to search online and scour the many hundreds of deals available. It might seem like a chore but once you’ve whittled down the options according to your preferences, such as ideal departure date, local resort and board basis, it makes the process a little easier.

The best deals can usually be found on the websites of major tour operators. Take Thomas Cook for instance. As a company that’s been organising holidays for decades, they’re no stranger to putting trips together and will almost always have a great deal or a discount to help make the cost of your holiday that little bit more manageable. You can find Thomas Cook holidays online or on the high street. If price is really top of the priority list, try searching for a late deal – ideally those leaving within the next few weeks – as you’ll usually save a significant amount on the original price of the holiday.

Once you’ve booked, then all that’s left to do is pack, find your passports and head off for a week or two of fun in the sun. What could be better?
