Long time no see! Anna is back, catching up on the summer and on the latest adventures

23 Oct

Dear Readers

it has been over two months since my last post, which was totally wedding planning related after the beautiful wedding I organised for my clients on the shores of Lake Como,I am still living all the memories of that beautiful day and I am so grateful that I finally received yesterday all the official pictures, looking forward to update my website now!

My summer has been busy between trips to Italy, Miami and Formentera and I finally have some time now to share the latest after such a long time.

I do love my blog and I do love when I people send me emails asking about it and why I don’t post that often but as you guys all know, I am not a:

Fashion Blogger (I wish…and I might try!)

or

Food blogger (I just love cooking)

but I am a bit of “everything goes and I talk about everything” blogger and sometimes I don’t always feel like sharing everything, especially things that goes on in your life… that’s why I don’t post as often and it goes by a few months sometimes between blog posts, but I am here, writing with my new MacBook air, so let’s make the most of it.

Apart from organising the wedding this summer I spent time in Miami with my husband and friends, I went to Formentera with my two best friends, where I totally left my heart…what a beautiful and amazing place to relax and have fun! More italian trips for my birthday and my husband’s birthday down on the Italian riviera, where I turned 31… (where is the turn back time button? I need one!) and more Miami time in September with my husband…we have been back for a month and it feels already like a lifetime!

I am still obsessed with cooking and baking as always, thank God for my great metabolism otherwise I would look like a barrel with all the cooking I get involved in…still totally obsessed with online shopping, please take all the devices away from me (and delete my paypal account!) and Coco, my furry companion, she is always by my side and she might raise to stardom soon, as we were called to go for an interview and photoshoot for a dog’s disease awareness campaign in London…watch this space!!

I am going to add some recent pictures and … keep in touch!!

Have a great weekend

Getting the wedding blogging fever, my latest thing! Anna in her wonderland between wedding planning, food & fitness

6 Feb

Dear readers

I know it has been a long time since my last post but January has been filled with lots of events, good and bad ones that the time just flew away and I finally find myself here at the beginning of February to post again to discuss my latest projects.

Wedding season is going to kick-start soon and it’s time to get ready with my clients to get all the paperwork and the boring bureaucracy part out of the way to focus on the details of the big day, flowers, food, decorations and so on…from this I got contacted by an Italian wedding blog for whom now I am writing tips for the future brides and grooms, it’s so exciting and fulfilling to have free pass to write about anything I want…shame that I do struggle to write the post in English and Italian, the Italian part takes me ages… since when I have nearly forgotten to write in my own language? Crazy!

So if you guys want to read my latest post for the Italian wedding blog Panorama Sposi here we go the links:

First post

Music for your wedding, 12 beautiful songs

Second post

Valentine’s day, love, flowers and a bit of S&M thanks to 50 Shades of grey the movie

This new project is really exciting for me but I haven’t forgotten my first love, my blog anna in her wonderland! Everybody is glad that January is over and despite the cold weather and the sporadic snow sometimes, I am already focusing into spring and I have been exercising a lot, more to keep my mind busy than anything else but it’s working, I feel already better and more full of energy, but so hungry all the time! Luckily I don’t need to lose any weight otherwise it will be a bit pointless do all that exercise and stuff my face after (but in a healthy way!)

Coco my lazy dog is always on my side keeping me company between a nap and the other, luckily I have her next to me!

Well guys I hope you will enjoy my wedding related post on Panorama sposi and have a great weekend you all!

Two months to Christmas let’s begin the countdown! Obsessed with nails, baking and dogs right now!

25 Oct

Dear readers

I popped into the local garden center a few days ago and I was shocked when Christmas trees, Christmas decorations and lights were in display, how does the time go? I can’t believe we are only two months away, maybe the mild temperatures we are experiencing at the moment don’t struck me like Jingle Bells and Feliz Navidad songs just yet!

Since the last trip away I am all about cooking, as usual, diligently going to the gym twice a week (rather strange for me!) and despite I was never that bothered before since my birthday I have become obsessed with nails and since I started to have my manicure done with Shellac, oh my a new world opened for me and my nails say thanks a lot!

I have been biting my nails on an off basically all my life and to find an nail polish that lasts and makes my nail stronger, it was a revelation!!

I am still cooking and baking a lot, experimenting and sometimes I even follow recipes fully, which is quite a novelty for me, I do like add my own taste to things! And can you believe that in less than a month Coco is going to be 2 years old? She is still a crazy dog, eating everything she finds around (a few days ago was my usb key, business cards, lip balm…and of course plastic bottles ), I must say it is a joy to have her around that she makes my day always happy!

Have a great weekend everybody

The Italian week, the wedding planning, the two lakes, the British sea, the Italian family over, the domestic goddess and the next trip to the land of the free and home of the brave, Anna is keeping busy!

8 Jul

Dear readers

As usual I am really late at posting updates on the blog, sorry guys I lose track of time sometimes! I spent a week in Italy with my family checking out wedding venues for my next bride and groom to be, so pleased to have had the chance to go over the beautiful Lake Como again, work meeting pleasure is always the way forward! And I spent the weekend enjoying time with the family, going clubbing on the other lake, Lake Garda, relaxing and having fun… sometimes just a few days home recharge my batteries so much to keep on going better and stronger!

Back home I keep on feeling like I need to cook and bake all day, yesterday for example I wasn’t feeling my best but suddenly after dinner I thought..I fancy a cake! Opened the fridge, found two large oranges, butter, yogurt and eggs…one hour later we were all eating orange cake!

I have had my family over last weekend where we spent a nice day in Brighton on a beautiful sunny day, shame Coco is in season and we were chased by male dogs on the seafront…and shame a few days after going back into Brighton I curbed my wheel very badly…my husband wasn’t impressed as you all can imagine, my excuse was “I have had the car for 4 months and this is the first time, I am doing quite alright for myself!”

Anyway I felt boring last week so I decided to change my look, so short bob hairstyle with blonde highlights, I am only a month and eleven days from turning 30…I am probably experiencing a beginning of midlife crisis…and between a cup of tea and a walk with the dog we are getting ready for the next Miami trip, only ten days to go!

Have a good week everybody

The World Cup, the baking and the travelling…Anna in her wonderland is keeping busy!

15 Jun

Hello dear readers

I am so excited over the World Cup that you will not believe, I don’t normally care about football generally but when the World Cup is on I suddenly feel really excited and I feel for my country even more, especially since I have moved to England over 5 years ago…and how better could have the World Cup started for me? England vs Italy, oh my! Shame that my husband is not into football but it was so much fun to watch the match at home with British friends, I was cheering, I was screaming, I was dancing around…I was so happy that Italy won! And I am so pleased to go to visit my family in Italy this week, I haven’t been back since February and I seriously cannot wait to fly back!

I have started to go back to the gym since the Miami trip, with not much success…while I work out I think what I am going to bake later…is that good or not? And of course cooking is still my main hobby right now, the cashiers at the local grocery store might think I am mad, I keep on going in to get more ingredients for my creations! Anyway the summer is here and I must admit the weather has been great lately; hopefully it will keep on being summer!!

9 May

Dear readers

I don’t know what is wrong with me at the moment, all I want to do is cooking and baking! Maybe somehow I realised that I am quite good at cooking (even my husband casually said “I might let you do the cooking for dinner parties…you are not that bad”…after 5 years of perfect meals on his dinner table!) so probably I feel like experimenting even more…I should start to write that famous recipe book I go on about but I never get around to!

Lots went on recently, work at home has finished and we have a lovely patio so we can be ready to enjoy summer evenings and drinks…hopefully Britain will offer us a good summer!

I have had lots on my plate recently, I have been working on my husband’s website, I have been working on the wedding planning website and seems like clients are coming around now which is great….and on Monday we are off to Miami, what is better than that???

I can show you some of my latest creations and I will blog from the Sunshine State…have a great weekend everybody!!

My week in wonderland, spring weather instead than fall weather, long walks, baking, cooking and what else? Of course keep up with Coco!

7 Oct

Dear readers,

I hope you all had a nice weekend, it has been nearly ten days since I come home from Miami and it feels like I have been back for ages, but for once I am not complaining right now, the British weather is still really mild for the time a year and I am enjoying long walks with my loyal companion Coco, baking sessions, shopping trips and gym workouts (well I had one so far…give me the chance please!)

After been sweating a lot in Miami two weeks ago it’s quite nice sometimes to wear a cashmere jumper in the evening, cuddle up on the sofa with a glass of red wine….and I look forward to have the fire on!

My food obsession has reached a scary level and I do not know why, I spend hours looking at recipes, I started to bake apple crumbles and apple pies thanks to our endless stock of apples from our trees, I even attempted my first Victoria Sponge cake…even my husband couldn’t believe that I follow every single step of the recipe…apart the double cream…well I whipped lightly…probably too lightly but it will be better next time!

I have been thinking for over a year to start to collect my recipes  and write them on a book or because I hate follow recipes I should call it scrapbook… what do you reckon guys? Anna and her reinvented Italian recipe book, with British, Spanish and Cuban influences …if I get bored I will start to!

Here we are some pictures…

Have a great week guys!

Anna, the useless Domestic Goddess is trying hard to impress…and to not feel that useless!

23 Apr

I am really sorry to have not written for such a long time, nearly a week is too long, this is not what I would normally do…but unfortunately I was a bit down last week so I didn’t want that my problems could affect my writing.

I am absolutely fine , I do just feel very useless right now, I’m not working anymore and sometimes it’s a struggle getting up in the morning, why? What am I going to do today? Not much! It does feel so frustrating thinking…uh…I haven’t got much to think about apart tidy up the house, going to the supermarket and cook dinner! Not having a daily job makes you see things in a different way, I am so glad that when I was feeling low last week my husband and my best friend (and my family from Italy of course) were supporting me and tried to motivate me to look for something new, new experiences, new possibilities but it is not that easy right now in the current climate is it? At the moment probably the only thing in my mind is…food! What shall I cook for dinner? I even baked a cake last week and it came out presentable and tasty!

Shall I open a restaurant?….nah…shall I just keep on cooking and telling you about? Deal then!

Shepherd’s pie can be cook by Italians as well…I am the proof!

A good soup can always warm up your cold wintery evenings

A good experiment, chocolate carrots and walnuts cake

Or a slice of chocolate cheesecake at the local pub tastes so good everytime!

Feel down? Going out for breakfast at the local tea room revives you!

Pancakes anyone? We call them crespelle…mushroom one for me!

Friday night treat? Cupcakes!!! (courtesy of Cloud 9 Brighton)

It’s hard when my husband is better than me at cooking…he should become a chef! Last night lamb in red wine sauce and sundried tomatoes mash potatoes…was so good!

And what about this strawberry cake? Domestic goddess me? Domestic God him!

Anna in her wonderland the domestic goddess? I’d love to please!!!

9 Feb

According to the stats on my WordPress dashboard, looks like I’m doing pretty well when I talk about food and I post my dishes: I am pleased with this good result. Never wanted to run a fashion blog (as if I know something about fashion but … if someone wants to sponsor my shopping trip I can change my mind quite easily!!), the Moaning tag in the topic’s section hasn’t been created yet, so let’s just run day by day with what crosses my mind.

As you can all tell so far, I love to be at home and work from here, it makes me organized and it gives me the freedom to arrange my day as I wish plus it gives me lots of time for the gym and the cooking.

After nearly four days of ibuprofen I’m getting a bit better and after an healthy lunch I went to the gym after nearly a week this afternoon…only doing exercises for my legs and relaxing in the Jacuzzi afterwards, amazing!

Back home, time to use skype and having a cup of tea, an apple and a Lindor chocolate…I burnt 180 calories in half an hour so please allow me!

Going one step back I’d like to show you what I prepared for dinner last night.

Starters

Tomato and green pea soup.

Main course

Salmon fillets with crème fraiche cheese topped with breadcrumbs and lemon zest, roasted garlic potatoes and soy sauce and sesame mangetout.

Dessert…nothing I’m afraid, just a cup of tea and some chocolate (I’m not that good at baking I have to practise more!)

What’s up for tonight? I’ll keep you posted and I wish an amazing evening to everyone!

PS: Do you think I’m going to receive this on Valentine’s Day? 😉
