Two months to Christmas let’s begin the countdown! Obsessed with nails, baking and dogs right now!

25 Oct

Dear readers

I popped into the local garden center a few days ago and I was shocked when Christmas trees, Christmas decorations and lights were in display, how does the time go? I can’t believe we are only two months away, maybe the mild temperatures we are experiencing at the moment don’t struck me like Jingle Bells and Feliz Navidad songs just yet!

Since the last trip away I am all about cooking, as usual, diligently going to the gym twice a week (rather strange for me!) and despite I was never that bothered before since my birthday I have become obsessed with nails and since I started to have my manicure done with Shellac, oh my a new world opened for me and my nails say thanks a lot!

I have been biting my nails on an off basically all my life and to find an nail polish that lasts and makes my nail stronger, it was a revelation!!

I am still cooking and baking a lot, experimenting and sometimes I even follow recipes fully, which is quite a novelty for me, I do like add my own taste to things! And can you believe that in less than a month Coco is going to be 2 years old? She is still a crazy dog, eating everything she finds around (a few days ago was my usb key, business cards, lip balm…and of course plastic bottles ), I must say it is a joy to have her around that she makes my day always happy!

Have a great weekend everybody

The puppies diaries part 2: sleepless nights, endless biting, Italian dog sitters, lots of love but I am sorry Coco I need a vacation, roll on Miami next Monday!

11 Feb

Hello readers

Here we are, probably over a week since my last post, very tired indeed today after half sleepless night. Coco decided to start to bark and cry around 5.30am, I was just about to go downstairs to calm her down when I heard the magic noise Coco loves: the food on the scale….the Italian dog sitters (yes, my parents came over to help me out…what’s going to happen when I will have a child??) fed Coco at 5.30am just to keep her quiet…so today Coco has “food jet lag”, she keeps on begging for food at any time!

Do I go out to do a wee and a poo? Well I want a biscuit when I come in or I will bite your toes offnow you wonder why I wear Ugg boots instead than slippers indoors!

Well as you all know I have fallen hard for her, my husband even harder (he went off for a ski trip last week and I swear he missed the dog more than me!) but now I start to feel in a need of a vacation, luckily next Monday we are off to Miami…my mother in law will Cocosit for 10 days…I wish her luck!

I’m sorry all my posts right now have become completely focused on the Dog’s theme…I am promising nice pictures from next week onwards in Florida!

The puppies diaries: how can Coco Chanel Elizabeth Taylor Collins steal my heart and put my life upside down like this? The power of a gorgeous Cavalier king Charles puppy

Calming signals dog

Hello readers

I cannot believe how my life has changed in just over 2 weeks of having little Coco at home with us. I love her dearly, and I think my husband loves her more than me right now (endless cuddles on the sofa with the dog and not a look to the wife, nice) but I must admit, I did not think it was going to be such hard work to raise and educate a puppy.

I am not a morning person at all, and lack of sleep on the first week hit me badly, and still 2 weeks on to me get up around 7/7.20 in the morning feels like wake up in the middle of the night, I never thought life could start so early in the morning!!

I am not a fashionista but I like every day to get dressed nicely, even if it’s just jeans and cashmere sweater…I can’t do this anymore with a vicious puppy that is trying to bite everything she sees (including my nose and my husband’s) so at the moment is just old jeans and old baggy sweater…anyway who does see you? No one when you spend all day at home!

I enjoy stay at home and just have lazy days sometimes…but now I start to feel a bit trapped in. I am not one of those people who just stay all day sat on the sofa watching E! and Bravo (to be a good real housewife) but my escapes at the moment are just, lock Coco in the kitchen and run to the supermarket … not actually very amusing!

I am even missing all the sales in town…I would just like to go out me and Coco for a walk in town instead than in the fields, but I can’t yet until she has the second vaccination…one more week to go.

I have work to do anyway which is good to be in sometimes….but now I am getting stressed, irritated and grumpy…I even called the gym to start my membership again…just to escape a bit!

Coco…I love you, I love the fact that you are making our days brighten with your presence…but I need to control my life again!!!

How is it possible something so small can make your heart to skip a beat? Absolutely in love with Coco (Elizabeth Taylor) Collins!

23 Jan

Hello readers

Here I am, really tired but happy, I have always dreamed to have a dog when I was a child, 28 years on I can finally say, yes I have a gorgeous Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy, named Coco (with Elizabeth Taylor as middle name, as a tribute to my favourite TV series ever, Sex and the city). Coco is 9 weeks old of sweetness and madness at the same time, how can something so small and cuddly can make you falling in love so hard?

Luckily I work from home because so far she is taking all my time and efforts…here we are some pictures… and a video from the TV series to remind me of the real Elizabeth Taylor
