Skinny Feeling Monday….do you feel it? I must have changed my mind about leggings…

1 Oct

About a year ago I posted on my blog a post regarding my reluctance to leggings worn on daily basis by anyone…well I think I changed my vision about it…just a bit.

https://annainherwonderland.com/2011/10/28/leggins-no-please/

Probably because since I discovered my new favourite brand, Forever 21, while in US and soon discovered that this amazing retail store came on the other side of the Atlantic as well I started to appreciate leggings and skinny jeans more than I used to….I bought this pair of simple basic blue leggings last month and they are soft, comfortable and kind of flattering as well (with a long t-shirt) than now I am not afraid to wear leggings on the outside world anymore…I have even started to travel in leggings and I love it!

I have gone skinny today as well, rocking a brown coated Zara Trf jeans and my beloved red Vans shoes….

I need to go for a shopping spree soon with one of my friend and at the moment I have these three items in my wish list…go on skinny!

Have a great Monday !

SPRING IS COMING, YOU SHOULD LOVE MINT COLOURED JEANS THEN! LET’S GET READY FOR THE WEEKEND GUYS

24 Feb

As you all know, I AM NOT a fashion blogger, and as you all know I never will. But yesterday when I saw the sun shining over the fields and the warm temperature coming in through the window I felt like spring was already here…luckily without hay fever yet!

I was going through Look magazine and we I saw this picture I thought: I have the same jeans, just bought them last week in Italy! So… why not make a fool of myself with some pictures? Here we are

Will I be able to walk in this electric blue Topshop shoes again? Let’s bet…

Why not being more comfortable…with pink ballerinas?

The sunshine was incredibly nice yesterday, I was driving around and feeling happy…and let’s think it’s weekend now!!! Enjoy!!

How can I find the right pair of jeans after my favourite one passed away?

17 Jan

Unfortunately ten days ago when we were away I had to wave farewell to my favorite pair of jeans, I was sad. I bought this Cycle jeans during the sales in 2006, paid a lot and worn them until they went from dark blue to white and I had to give up completely when I sat on the sofa and they broke completely on my bum…luckily I was at home and only my husband saw that.

The trouble now is…I cannot find the right pair of jeans that can fit me properly! Most jeans around the shops are just super skinny, let alone the jeggings…I do not like them, they make me look like I have a Kim Kardashian’s bum!

Shall I scroll through my wardrobe then? Just to remember!

Sisley black and suede colour jeans, skinny, but not too much.

I used to wear Jacob Cohen jeans, still have 3 or 4 pairs that I wear to go to work, a bit faded all of them!

Diesel Matic jean…lovely

This Zara high waist jean from the 2008 season are awesome, I love how they fit my legs, shame that they are not that comfortable…it takes ages to undo the buttons if you need to pee!

One of my last purchases, j brand skinny in emerald green, I love!

Actually yesterday I realized that there are the sales going on at the moment on the high street and I found this jeans in Zara for 14.99, could I leave them there? No way, I didn’t have a pair of brown jeans…shame that I had to buy size 36 instead than my usual 34…hate this 2kg I put on!!

I’m sure I have a few more pairs somewhere, all saints, Hollister or something else. So..have I got enough jeans for the moment? My mum will say yes…but please help me with your jeans recommendations!!!

10 reasons why I’m not British and I probably never will

10 Dec

I don’t mean to offend anyone or to upset anyone, please do not take this post in the wrong way.

I have been living in England for 3 years and there are still so many things that make me so different from British girls, the ones I see walking up and down the high street…just take it like

The vision of an Italian grumpy cow about Britain…

10 reasons why I’m not British and I probably never will

1. I don’t stand outside a pub at 5PM on a Friday in December drinking lager, smoking a rolled up cigarette, wearing tracksuit and a vest, when it’s only 4degrees C (or 39 degrees F )

2. I don’t go out on Friday or Saturday night during the winter wearing only a Lipsy dress with a clutch bag and peep toe shoes (my outfit could be more likely to be jeans, leggings underneath, socks, another pair of socks, long sleeve t-shirt, jumper, jacket, scarf, and I will be still so brave to claim I’m cold!) See the daily mail article (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2067391/Why-DO-young-women-dressed-like-We-meet-nightclubbers-unsettling-answer.html)

3. I’d rather go for a sun bed sometimes and risk being wrinkly by 30, but I will never go for a spray tan! It stinks, it makes you look orange and plus after you have it done you cannot have a shower for 24 hours to get the colour to settle…it stinks to me!

4. I still don’t get the passion for Indian food or Chinese food, both mess up my stomach a lot!

5. I don’t think beans, cheese or whatever you like, followed by On toast, can be considered a meal!

6. Don’t get why until 18 years old people cannot drink, I started at 14 and by 18 I was bored to! It could save so many lives have a better drinking education, not wait to be 18 and get wasted every weekend throwing up everywhere in the high street outside clubs, thinking about East street in Brighton on a Friday night…

7. I don’t want to go clubbing in London, for god’s sake why all the clubs are on the basement?!? Claustrophobia rules my life!

8. I do not shop in Topshop! British sizes don’t fit me properly, different body shape from Italians and British girls, and luckily I’m not 11stone like the average Brits (from a recent survey, all my British friends are thin and glamorous)

9. I like to shop in Primark, just picking up the right bits to mix with designer accessories… I do not fill up the basket with all the crap just because it’s so cheap!

10. I hate leggings…as you all know from one of my previous post!

That’s why I’m LOUD AND PROUD to be Italian, with my pros and cons!!

Leggins…no please

28 Oct

I must say I am not a fan of leggings. Despite I’m thin with a Brazilian looking bottom, I do not feel confident wearing leggings, I think it shows every single imperfection. Everywhere I look here in England I can see girls wearing leggings, thin girls, chunky girls, everyone. I take in England wearing leggings it’s a kind of Off Duty and easy way to dress…but it shouldn’t. When I want to be off duty, or simply I don’t feel like give too much attention to what I wear, I just take out of the closed a pair of jeans and a T-shirt; it does work well all the time. Unflattering leggings, the new wool ones as well…should be banned from the nation. Or at least be banned after size 8…or at least be so decent to add a long jumper with…I’m not trying to be mean or “racist” against chunky girls…but please do think about girls, leggings do not help you. And who’s talking is a 48kg, 7.5stone, 105.6pounds that cannot stand to see this horror in the street.

I’m ok with skinny jeans…same principle, but at least skinny jeans are not cellulite – see through.

Please God, save the Queen and the nation from the leggings invasion!

Have a great weekend everyone and party rock 😉

These ZARA boots are made for walking

19 Oct

These boots are made for walking,

and that’s just what they’ll do

one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.

I have been looking for a few days all around the High Street for a pair of winter boots, I wanted something warm but pretty, something with heel (I was’t going to wear them everyday anyway) but I couldn’t find nothing that caught my attention, when today I walked in Zara in Brighton just to have a look and I saw these boots, I fall in love for it  and when I saw the price tag…well I fall in love even more, only £ 49!!

They are confortable, quite high (11,5 cms./ 4,53 inches) but easy to walk in, and the sheepskin is going to keep me warm, thank ZARA, again!!!

Ready to go, thanks high street!

22 Sep

I’m ready, I can’t wait to get rid of my boredom and I can’t wait for a glass of wine!

My outfit comes from the high street, got this Diesel jeans in April (the model is called Matic, size 26 but after Miami they are a bit tight!). The white shirt came on my Tuesday shopping spree at H&M, only £ 12.99! Love this Benetton shoes I bought last February, shame I risk to kill myself every time I wear them, well…I don’t have to walk tonight! And god bless my lovely 4 years old Louis Vuitton speedy 25, I love it!

Well if someone delays, I’m going to start to open the bottle of Prosecco, have a good evening everyone!

Unpredictably good!

21 Sep

I woke up this morning at 10 feeling so miserable, the cold I was talking about yesterday kicked off and I wasn’t able to get up at all, plus I hear the noise of the rain, done it I’m going to be in bed all day!

I managed to get up, do some work and I had to go out to see my husband so I thought, wellington boots then…I cannot stand the rain but I do actually like wear my purple rubber boots, I bought them last year in the North Laines in Brighton for 30 pounds, they are so pretty and so much better than Hunter boots, at the end of the day no one looks good in wellies so what’s the point to spend stupid money on a brand that you are going to wear only when it’s pissing rain??? 🙂

When I finally managed to get ready the sun was out and I thought…strange, so I went out to do some shopping and some stuff around town, when I came back I was sweating away in the car in my leather jacket, what’s going on weather??? At home was sunny and 20 degrees Celsius (68 F) and I went in the garden for a bit to enjoy the sun and make a fool of myself, I tried to do some rolls, flips or whatever I should say in English, I did some capriole and ruote and I’m still able to!!!!

Fingers crossed the weather is going to stay like that for a bit!!

Totally obsessed with green

20 Sep

Today has been a boring day, I’m not feeling my best right now, I feel I’m just about to get a cold or a flu, the weather doesn’t help, today in Brighton the sky was miserably grey and it felt so windy, I haven’t been that busy at work so during lunch time I thought to go for a walk to fight my boredom and tiredness, thanks to the High Street I felt so much better! I went for a walk in H & M and I saw a dark green kimono dress…it made my day! I don’t know why I love the colour (or color depends which side of the Atlantic you are), I started to like it last year when I bought a Karen Miller bright green dress for a wedding (I couldn’t actually wear it for the occasion because my husband – my fiancé at the time banned me to wear it…well I worn it for my bachelorette’s party in Miami instead!).

I couldn’t believe how low cost shopping could make me feel so much better, a dress, a white shirt, three t-shirts and some socks made me happy and not bankrupt today!!!

I have an evening wedding invitation for Saturday night, what shall I wear? Help!!!! Still summery dresses or shall I go for something more fall-winter with darker colours? Or maybe something GREEN!!!

I surrender…

17 Sep

I couldn’t believe I slept 13 hours last night, when I woke up at 12.10 I thought, where am I? What time is it? Which side of the Atlantic am I right now? And after I saw out of the window the fields and the rain and I understood I’m back home unfortunately! After a very late start of the day, I made nice and simple pasta for lunch (or brunch, or breakfast whatever you want to call it),  we had a nice family day out looking at cars to buy for me next year when my beloved Smart (sigh) will go back to the Smart dealer… A3 convertible, A1 or TT coupe…I just want a car to drive around, I don’t pretend nothing too fancy!

The day started a bit chilli, well I mean from 12 pm on it wasn’t very nice but around 5pm got a bit better and sunny so I took some pictures in the sunny garden, what a big difference between the panorama here and in Miami Beach! From havaianas flip flops to Ugg boots, BIG DIFFERENCE!!

Traditional Saturday night today…Indian dinner out tonight, as the kids like it, blockbuster movies and I hope another 12 hours sleep!!! Have a great weekend you all.
