My week in wonderland, spring weather instead than fall weather, long walks, baking, cooking and what else? Of course keep up with Coco!

7 Oct

Dear readers,

I hope you all had a nice weekend, it has been nearly ten days since I come home from Miami and it feels like I have been back for ages, but for once I am not complaining right now, the British weather is still really mild for the time a year and I am enjoying long walks with my loyal companion Coco, baking sessions, shopping trips and gym workouts (well I had one so far…give me the chance please!)

After been sweating a lot in Miami two weeks ago it’s quite nice sometimes to wear a cashmere jumper in the evening, cuddle up on the sofa with a glass of red wine….and I look forward to have the fire on!

My food obsession has reached a scary level and I do not know why, I spend hours looking at recipes, I started to bake apple crumbles and apple pies thanks to our endless stock of apples from our trees, I even attempted my first Victoria Sponge cake…even my husband couldn’t believe that I follow every single step of the recipe…apart the double cream…well I whipped lightly…probably too lightly but it will be better next time!

I have been thinking for over a year to start to collect my recipes  and write them on a book or because I hate follow recipes I should call it scrapbook… what do you reckon guys? Anna and her reinvented Italian recipe book, with British, Spanish and Cuban influences …if I get bored I will start to!

Here we are some pictures…

Have a great week guys!

2 years of being married, hot British summertime in progress, a blogging competition won, good weekend just flew by and I am going to fly away on Monday again!

16 Jul

happy second wedding anniversary

Hello dear readers

I cannot believe I have been married for 2 years already! Lots of friends texted me and messaged me on facebook today to remind me our gorgeous wedding day on Lake Como…as someone suggested we should all go back there for a party to celebrate…do you think George Clooney will be so kind to hand me the keys of his villa? I wish!!!

We had such a good weekend  celebrating the combined stag and Hen do of a couple of friends, we watched the polo match, we drank, we danced…and we did sweat a lot, I can’t complain anymore about the British weather then! Sunday was a heavy day standing up all day at Goodwood Festival of Speed…I walked so far around the show that at one stage my right ankle got so swollen I could barely walk….hopefully not a beginning of cankles please!!

I woke up on Monday with the news that I have won the blogging competition set up by Milla Grace, a gourgeous boutique in Brighton so, really pleased with myself I went into town to meet the owners and collect my prize, a beautiful Trim detail jacket in mint from Almost Famous…I am so happy and I want to thanks Milla Grace and wishing all the best to this newly open boutique in the heart of the Brighton Lanes!!!

Easy week ahead just to enjoy the sunshine and off again on Monday for two weeks with the family in Miami…but let’s show you some pictures of the weekend!

The style challenge, I have a wedding coming up and the Beach Polo to attend…#millagracestyleme might help me!

5 Jul

Hello dear readers

I received an email yesterday from Milla Grace boutique in the lanes in Brighton, they contacted me to give me the chance to participate to the #millagracestyleme competition and I couldn’t miss this opportunity!!

The aim is to create a look from the products featured on the Milla Grace site or in their store in Dukes Lane, Brighton; the winning blog will win their favorite piece from their look…

Well I am working on now! I am going to attend the Beach Polo on Sandbanks next Saturday and I really don’t know what to wear, I am not normally a person that dress up in pretty summery dresses, I am more the type “skinny jeans, white shirt and leather jacket combo”, but let’s try to make an effort for this event. I have chosen the light blue colour for my possible outfit:

trim detail jacket in mint Almost Famous Drew dress in aqua Virginie Castaway Aldo shoes BuitoNail Varnish in GommeI am always cold, and the weather is rather unpredictable in England isn’t it? That’s why I added the Almost Famous Trim detail jacket in Mint colour, the drew dress  in Aqua is really pretty but elegant at the same time, and to keep the theme I love the light blue nail varnish to brighten up your mani-pedi! The shoes are from Aldo shoes, white, simple, with a heel that should support me on the sand and from 1pm to 1am!

I forgot to say that I am going to the Beach Polo to celebrate the combined stag/hen do of a lovely couple of friends of mine, and of course my next big event to attend is their wedding in Southampton, where I need another outfit for!

I know one of the first rules of a wedding is…only the bride can wear white, right? Ok I understand, but as you all know me I love breaking rules and make up my own ones, so can I wear this outfit please?

Christian Louboutin yellow peep-toe pumps Nail Varnish in Message in a Bottle

I love that white dress…and what better than a yellow jacket and yellow heels to make it “less white” but still bright and funny? With a touch of colour with that nail varnish to make the outfit more sophisticated… I cannot afford Louboutin shoes at all but my birthday is coming up…so husband read here please! 😉

Taking cooking really seriously, spending lots of time with the puppy and dreaming a get away in10 days…the latest updates

20 May

Dear readers

Time is never enough and sometimes I just struggle a bit to find 15 minutes to sit down in front of my laptop to do some writing (I am taking advantage of the moment now that the dog is asleep!)

So…what’s up you guys? I have been in England for over 3 weeks and I feel it…I feel like escaping again! All I think about right now is to take care of Coco…who’s 6 months today!

birthday dog coco

I think about cooking all the time (and I wonder why I can get rid of those two kilos more on my body)…I think about going out for long walk on Brighton beach (If only the weather could be on my side)…and I can’t stop thinking about that in 10 days I am off to Miami again, oh yeah!!

We had a very busy weekend to prepare a dinner party here at home, Italian dinner party to be precise, and my lasagne as usual came out perfect! I am bit surprised about how good  is my husband when he is cooking, he made Sicilian style arancini (rice balls with minced meat and breadcrumbs)…I am starting to doubt his citizenship!!

A day out in London town and the snow in March, what an unexpected and unpleasant surprise! Back to winter wonderland? Looks like it!

Hello readers

As you can see sometimes I come back to update my blog, last week it was the first week at home after the Miami vacation and I had to sort myself out with the time zone and I had to get back into the puppy routine once again, which it was pleasant but hard as well!

Yesterday some snow fell and I took some pictures with Coco in the garden, but by 6pm last night the south west of England (mostly Brighton area) was completely covered in snow, my poor husband had to drive 5 miles to come home, it took him 2 hours and 10 minutes, can you believe it? I woke up to probably 10 cm of snow in the garden…oh my!!! Snow in March does not seem right to me, probably because I hate snow at any time of the year anyway!  I am going to show you some pictures from the past few days, a fun day in London with good Italian friends, some baking….plus some snaps of Coco Chanel…she is growing so much!!!

An apple a day keeps the doctor away…is this working even for Apple products?? Obsessed with my latest gadget…and I got lost in translation!

10 Oct

Hello readers,

I am really sorry that I couldn’t update the blog in the past few days, I have been running errands every day, I have been working, I have been cooking, I have been baking…and I have fallen in love for my new iPad…I am like a child on Christmas day sometimes! (by the way only 75 days till Christmas!!!)

I have been going back and forth from Brighton to attend some meetings, yesterday facing the horrible rainy day, today I have been facing a nice sunshine, I hit the high street on lunchtime but unfortunately I haven’t been successful…I might need to arrange a day out somewhere for a proper shopping spree, up to London would be nice!

Autumn is here, the leaves are falling down from the tree, the garden and the fields around are changing into nice colors and this “season changing” time makes me feel like to wear my apron all day long and cook until dawn….soups, starters, mains, cupcakes….my new idol of the week at the moment is Nigella Lawson…and I even decided if I am ever going to speak English with a British accent…well I want to speak like her!!

Oh my…there is only thing I am dreading about right now…having my refurbished wheels back on my car….S.O.S!!!!

Still in a summer mode, hopefully for good!! Wonderful sunshine makes me happy!

29 May

The weather is still so gorgeous, spent all the weekend sunbathing and jumping in the garden (yes, we have a trampoline now!)…so I am 27, what’s the problem? The trampoline brings me back to my happy childhood’s memories!!

It was so hot that at one stage I wanted to jump in the pool…shame there is no pool here!

The weather forecasts are predicting rain and cold again, but please let me dream! I’m not British and I do not believe in monarchy, but I wish God Save the Queen on her jubilee so we have our 2 days of bank holiday!!! Soon off to Italy, soon off to Miami and Bahamas…I can’t wait!!! X

Low cost shopping, great fun…and good excuse to escape from my lonely wonderland

25 Apr

As you know I haven’t had much to do recently and this fact has actually started to bother me a bit, the weather has been horrible recently, rain non-stop since last week, been working out at the gym every other day but, I start to feel frustrated and I cannot wait to go away on Monday. Is just me or is it normal feel like the time is just flying by…and despite and I’m not busy at all I arrive at the evening thinking: – Oh shit I haven’t done that, oh yes I must do that tomorrow…come on turn back time I need more hour during the day…looking for a job is exhausting, plus when no one even bother to reply…even more frustrating!

Today I woke up and it was raining, and raining, and raining. I keep on seeing rabbits everywhere, every time I look out of the window there is a bit of wildlife going on, I will start to talk to them soon…and it was still raining, and raining and raining. I have to do something today just to take my mind off things for a bit so when around 12 stopped to rain for a bit (MIRACLE) I went down to Brighton for some Low Cost Shopping down in the high street and I was pleasantly pleased with myself!

I don’t get why lots of people slag off most of the high street shops, Primark? For chavs and poor people! New look? Not good! Topshop? Cheap shop! H&M? polyester a go go…hang on….are all British people millionaires right now? Because I heard this morning on the radio England is in recession again and unfortunately right now designer is off limits for my wallet so why not?

Monday we are off again to Miami (YEAH!) and I just needed some basic t-shirts…well actually as usual I did not need a thing but I found a few interesting bits anyway!

Electric blue shorts? Yeah! As a huge fan of Rihanna … I needed that t-shirt!   And what about some LMFAO? Party rock! And the espadrilles? They are taking me right back to my childhood! So Miami…low cost I will come over!

xxx

Sorry for NOT party rocking…back into the wonderland for a few day and off we go, Miami here we come again!

2 Mar

Hello everyone,

I am really sorry I have been very busy in the last few days, been driving around a lot, been out with friends, been helping out my husband’s business using the social media…god bless facebook and twitter, been collecting my new car…but my husband keeps on taking it so I haven’t driven it yet…grrrr! Been to the hairdresser…been to the gym, been to the beautician…and finally the weekend is here and Monday morning we are off to Miami, I cannot wait!!!

I will bring the latest recipe’s book with me to eat in sometimes, Gino d’Acampo’s book is amazing!!

My latest creation was spaghetti with red chillies, prawns, white wine, basil and rocket….amazing…ly spicy but good!!!

So let’s post some pictures…

Driving through a foggy Brighton today

and unfortunately I was running late so I had to be quick…not anymore please!

Dining out, drinking with friends, new car, donkeys…that’s what happened in a weekend in wonderland!

26 Feb

I had a great weekend; everything happened for a reason and let’s talk about…maybe in pictures it’s going to be easier at the moment due to my hangover spelling problems!

Friday night, dinner out with friends to a very nice Thai restaurant…which my husband thought to have booked the table but he did actually book the wrong one!  We managed to eat to the one we wanted anyway. Next time I will book the restaurant!

Saturday, lot of driving around and despite the diet we stopped to McDonalds for lunch to get something quickly and carry on…diet will start again tomorrow sorry about that!

Stopped to an Audi showroom to look at cars…ended up ordering my new car, so exciting and so happy!!!

Running late we met up with friends for drinks and dinner, amazing combination but…shame when at 2am you throw up everything!

Everything happens for a reason…I will drink less next time!!!

Sunday…hangover, headache, and gardening. I’m smoky right now…thanks to the bonfire!

Went for a spin in the countryside…and saw some donkeys in a field…so my husband took his chance to see how similar we look…right I am a donkey then!!
