Hello readers

If I could just speak with hash tags this post will be called #annainherwonderland #hasdiscovered #newhorizons ….yes I finally stepped into the future…I gave up my Blackberry for the new iPhone 5s and I absolutely love it!!!

My poor husband is quite traditional and not as open as me to change phones, to use tablets and general technology speaking… after a few looks at the iPhone and after a few touches of the screen said: It’s like a mini iPad!

My reply was a bit like “which came first, the chicken or the egg?”

The iPhone clearly! 🙂

Anyway, apart play all day with my iThings (still a definition from my husband) I am working on another wedding in Tuscany, which makes me really excited, we are changing a few bits around at home and I am intrigued by interior design, furniture shops and so on…I keep busy with the dog, as usual, and my food and baking obsession hasn’t stopped…luckily I am still firm on my 50 kilos! I am trying to enjoy the time here as much as I can, until the next trip planned in a few weeks, which I can’t wait for! Ten days in Miami with our good friends, it’s going to be good!

Plus I have so many things to look forward to

  • Miami trip
  • My best friend is coming to visit
  • 10 days in Italy for Christmas

I love the Christmas season, I am already thinking which decorations to go for the tree, I have already made a list of presents for family and friends, and I must be honest, I have already the Christmas cards sorted…call me super organized…or say that I haven’t got a damn to do all day, your choice!!!

My food obsession does not want to stop, please take me back to Florida for the stone crab season!

10 Oct

Dear readers

As I was mentioning yesterday I developed  a proper obsession for food, cooking, baking, tasting new flavors, I do not know what goes on my brain (or in my stomach) right now, I was going through my pictures on my laptop and I found there are more pictures of food than pictures of people!

I found some pictures of when me my then husband to be and our friends went for dinner at Joe’s stone crab in Miami (as you can see below) and I suddenly thought, I need to be back, the season is about to start! I discovered that Stone crab is available for harvest between October 15th and May 15th.

Native to Florida’s Gulf coast, these rare crabs have the unique ability to regenerate their claws and limbs. These delicious claws are always in high demand and are widely regarded as one of the forms of fresh Florida Seafood. Claws are cooked daily in boiling water for 7-10 minutes and cooled to prevent the meat from sticking to the shell. They are then sorted into four sizes: medium, large, jumbo, and colossal.

I discovered this website Uber Stone Crabs so next time I can cut off going to the restaurant, for sure when we go back in Miami in a few weeks with friends I am going to order a truck of stone crab for a dinner party!

My week in wonderland, spring weather instead than fall weather, long walks, baking, cooking and what else? Of course keep up with Coco!

7 Oct

Dear readers,

I hope you all had a nice weekend, it has been nearly ten days since I come home from Miami and it feels like I have been back for ages, but for once I am not complaining right now, the British weather is still really mild for the time a year and I am enjoying long walks with my loyal companion Coco, baking sessions, shopping trips and gym workouts (well I had one so far…give me the chance please!)

After been sweating a lot in Miami two weeks ago it’s quite nice sometimes to wear a cashmere jumper in the evening, cuddle up on the sofa with a glass of red wine….and I look forward to have the fire on!

My food obsession has reached a scary level and I do not know why, I spend hours looking at recipes, I started to bake apple crumbles and apple pies thanks to our endless stock of apples from our trees, I even attempted my first Victoria Sponge cake…even my husband couldn’t believe that I follow every single step of the recipe…apart the double cream…well I whipped lightly…probably too lightly but it will be better next time!

I have been thinking for over a year to start to collect my recipes  and write them on a book or because I hate follow recipes I should call it scrapbook… what do you reckon guys? Anna and her reinvented Italian recipe book, with British, Spanish and Cuban influences …if I get bored I will start to!

Here we are some pictures…

Have a great week guys!
